Please help us welcome our newest pre-school student.

Jamaica Christian School for the Deaf is a residential facility that caters to the needs of hearing impaired children.
We also have students with other disabilities such as mental retardation, autism and cerebral palsy. These students number in the minimal.

JCSD is located in the cool hills of St. James, in a farming community named Eden and as the name suggests, it is beautiful. Here the environment is suitable to good health and conducive to learning.

JCSD is one of twelve schools for the deaf on the island, one of five schools for the deaf run by church ministries and one of three schools serving the western region of the island. We cater to the spiritual, academic , social and moral needs of our students who range from 2yrs. – 18 yrs. We involve our students in many activities to build experiences thus making them well rounded and knowledgeable.

We are supported mainly through donations from church bodies and a few corporate bodies.

As a learning institution, we are striving to seek out and educate children who are deaf. We are striving to put in infrastructure that will allow us to better able serve our students, so that these children can become productive, independent citizens of society.

We instill in our students a sense of self-worth, knowing that they can, hence, the newly penned motto “Not disabled, just differently-abled.”

We thank God for the medical mission team that visited our campus recently. They provided much needed care for students, staff, and members of our local community. Although she is joining us late in the school year, she is adjusting well. We are looking for sponsors who will support Jahnel financially and with prayer and encouragment.
